Egg Donation

Egg donation or egg transplant treatment is recommended for patients who cannot achieve pregnancy with their own eggs. This group of patients can receive egg donation treatment due to premature ovarian failure, menopause or genetic diseases. There is no difference between a pregnancy achieved by egg donation and a normal pregnancy.

The most important thing you need to know before deciding on the Egg Donation process is that the identity information of the egg donor from whom the egg was taken and yours are never shared in accordance with the law.

Therefore, neither the donor nor your child can ever know each other.

Success rates of egg donation treatment in Cyprus are quite high.
Overall, women between the ages of 20-29 have 82% of egg donation success rate. For women between the ages of 30-34, this rate goes up to 81%.

With its high success rates, Cyprus egg transplantation is a frequently preferred place.
Cyprus Egg Donation Treatment Stages

  1. Pairing
The couple who are interested in egg donation are matched with the most suitable egg donor according to their physical characteristics (height, weight, skin color, eye and hair color, body shape, face type etc.), nationality and education status.
  2. Preparation of Egg Donor
The donor's ovaries are stimulated and synchronized with the recipient's period.
  3. Preparation of the Recipient
The recipient's endometrium is prepared for embryo transplantation with medications.
  4. Oocyte Collection (OPU)
  5. Once the egg donor is ready for OPU, egg retrieval is performed.
  6. Fertilization and Embryo Transfer
The collected eggs are fertilized with sperm and the best embryos are transferred back to the recipient by egg transplant. The remaining embryos are frozen for later use.
  7. Pregnancy Test
Since the age factor is important in terms of egg quality, the age range of our Egg Donors is between 21-29. screening tests are performed to ensure that our donors do not carry any deseases.

Who Can Have Egg Donation (Egg Transplant)?

“Egg donation” is usually the case in the following situations..

  • Women whose ovaries have been removed due to illness
  • Women who have received treatments for Cancer such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.
  • Women whose ovaries have no or little stimulation with the help of medication treatment.

to their child such as Hemophilia, Duchenne's muscular dystrophy, Huntington's chorea.

  • Women whose egg reserve and quality are not sufficient for pregnancy due to advanced age
  • Women with inherited diseases linked to the X gene

Is gender determination possible in egg donation?

Gender determination can be performed for couples who have undergone egg donation and IVF treatment. During the egg donation process, with the the help of a biopsy made just before the transfer of embryos, both sex determination and chromosomal genetic screening can be performed with the PGT method. The embryos of the preferred gender by the recipient couple are transferred to the uterus of the recipient mother on the fifth day of their development and gender determination is made during pregnancy.

In IVF treatment with egg donation, embryos obtained from the donated eggs of healthy women fertilized with sperm are transferred to women who cannot produce eggs or whose eggs are not healthy. During sex determination, female and male cells in the sperm can be separated even before the embryos are formed with the help of microsort. When embryos are formed in gender selection with PGD, a single cell can be taken from the embryo, where both gender determination and genetic screening can be performed. Also, by combining microsort and PGD, sex determination can be made at a rate of 99.9% and the embryo of the preferred sex can be placed in the mother's womb.
